Ladybirds 3 - 15 months

Our Ladybirds room at Tinkerbells is a lovely bright and stimulating room with an array of wonderful activities for your baby to enjoy.  It is a perfect place for early development opportunities, with practitioners who are committed to caring for each child as an individual.

Home routine is very important and we endeavour to follow this as closely as possible so you and your baby may feel secure and respected.  We offer a key person to each baby, so you may rest assured that your baby is getting the best care we can offer.

Communication is very important and we will endeavour to speak to you at every opportunity and via a daily diary.  This means any concerns you have or advice you need can be dealt with.  Above all, we will work in partnership with you to make your baby's time here as settled and enjoyable as possible.

We follow the early year's foundation stage and each child has a learning journey which is a wonderful development record of your child.

The environment

  • Brightly decorated with lots of colourful pictures on the wall and mobiles hanging from the ceiling.
  • There is a separate room or area for the babies to sleep in.
  • Each baby will have his or her own cot or where this is not possible, their own clean bedding.

The staff

  • Staff will be holding some of the babies and talking to others.
  • The staff to child ratio is one to three in the baby room.
  • The staff in the baby room genuinely enjoy their work and will show a real interest in every baby as an individual.

The routine

  • You will be asked to remove your shoes to keep the floor clean and hygienic.
  • There is less organised play in the babies' room compared with other rooms in the nursery, as the babies' own routine is followed.
